More Colour it up with Color Study by Vicki Boutin | Julie Taylor
Hi Magpies, Julie back with you again today, sharing 2 more layouts using the fabulous Color Study from Vicki Boutin.
I decided to go a bit more toned down, with this page, & chose a green & purple palette. There are so many colours in this collection that you could chose any really!! I started on white cardstock & added some mixed media, ink, texture paste & splatters, not that you can see much as I covered most of it up!!! I found these 2 old photos of my girls doing each others make-up & thought some of the sayings in the collection went perfectly, Sense of humour required, do not hand the brush to anyone else, live in color.
I backed the photos, with some patterned paper & added them vertically down the page, tucking in bits of ephemera, chipboard & die cuts.
I fussy cut some of the purple flowers off the sketch book paper & tucked those in adding on foam pads, for dimension.
The green chipboard circle helped the layout to flow, along with the directional gold arrows.
The title came out the ephemera pack & I added 2 edge pieces to add extra purple.
This day was fabulous
The inspiration for this layout came from the tags on the perspective paper. I cut them all apart, distressed the edges & added metal eyelets to each one.
I layered up some papers, horizontally, Array of colours (B side), Inspired (B side), Linear (B side) & New Ideas (B side) I distressed all the edges & added 2 ripped sections to add extra ephemera.
I layered the tags, down each edge, at different levels, adding foam tape to raise them up, allowing me to add the string to link them together. My crazy photos are from a photo booth, at a party, & my daughter decided to wear a cow head!!!! which made us fall about laughing!! I added the photos to both sides & the 3rd one under the bottom ripped section.
I tucked in lots of ephemera, around the photos, with some die cut scalloped edging & the lovely puffy stars.
I have really enjoyed using & creating with this collection & can see myself making many more layouts.
until next time,
