Mixing it Up with Basic Grey & Fancy Pants
Hi Magpie readers, hope you have been scrapping with the lovely new products that have become available over the past few weeks. I ended my last months blog post saying that I would be using the Fancy Pants Designs – Flutter collection for this months post, but with all the new additions to the shop I had a change of plan and have used a selection from two other collections., both ones I couldn’t resist Basic Grey – Prism and Adrift.
This month I’ve managed to do 4 layouts, so here goes. First up is using Fancy Pants Designs – Flutter collection and again a fun layout of Sam, Sheena and me at our recent DT retreat having a laugh posing with our wigs on provided by Nancy, the title is just empt for this layout – it was definitely a Crazy, Silly, Fun moment and one that needed to be documented.
I used this paper as the background. The title is cut with my Cameo and backed with a selection of papers from the Fancy Pants Designs – Flutter 6×6 pad.
I also layered a few sheets behind each photo and well as using some of the bits and pieces from the Fancy Pants Designs – Flutter Ephemera pack. and finishing off with some ink splatters from Jen Hadfield – Gold Mist spray and Heidi Swapp Colour Shine – Blush spray.
For my 2nd layout, I used the lovely fresh collection from Basic Grey – Prism Collection, a simple and easy layout to do, using a few sheets from Basic Grey – Prism 6×6 pad.
For the titles I used Fancy Pants Design – Burlap & Bouquet – Alphabet Stickers from my stash, which worked really well with the colours of this collection.
and some of the stickers, from the Basic Grey – Prism – Title Stickers.
My 3rd layouts, I used another collection from Basic Grey – this time the Adrift collection, which has nautical / seaside feel to it, and was ideal for the photos I wanted to scrap..
For the background I used Basic Grey – Adrfit – Tide Paper, and cut 3 stripes from Rope, Anchors and Portside – border punched one edge and inked the edges. Behind each photo I layered papers from Basic Grey – Adrift – 6×6 pad and raised the photos using – American Craft – This & That – Adhesive Form Tabs – I’m loving these foam tabs has they give a extra dimension to my layouts and allows the photos to ‘pop’. The photos where taken at Easter on a few of our many walks along the beach in Norfolk.
For the title I used Pink Paislee – Bella Rouge – Transparant Alphabets, and also added some stamping using sets from Here Right Now and Crazy Awesome Life from Studio L2E.
My final layout, staying with Basic Grey – Adrift collection, I layered a couple of sheets from the 6×6 pad, distressing the edges, and embellished around the photo. The photo was taken at Easter of my nephew, my son and me after we had stopped for a break after our beach walk.
I also added a die cut from My Favourite Things
That all from me this month, I hope you love these new collections as much as me, and they all been fun to use.
Happy Scrapping till next month.
