Mixing Collections: Truly Grateful and Heritage

 

Hi everyone, this is Niki back with you today with two more layouts where I have mixed two collections: Paige Evans Truly Grateful and Maggie Holmes Heritage.

The two collections go really well together as they have similar colour palettes. The also both have cute critters and both have an autumn feel about them.

For my first layout,’Together we are Frenemies’ I used the Heritage postcard paper for the wide border. I then used a white background but framed that with a Truly Grateful paper. I fussy cut the rope border from one of the Heritage papers and used that at the top and bottom of the layout.

I created the large photo cluster by mounting my photo, tucking in some glittery Heritage speciality acetate and adding more papers and tags. I also fussy cut several yellow flowers from the Heritage collection and tucked those in too. I added fussy cut trees from Truly Grateful and lots of little embellishments from that collection too.

To create my title I used ‘together’ which was from the Truly Grateful ephemera pack and I made up the word ‘Frenemies’ from the Truly Grateful Thickers. The little alphabet stickers in the middle are by Pinkfresh Studio. I finished off my adding a glittery Heritage butterfly and some Truly Grateful wooden buttons.

For my second layout today, I have used mostly Heritage but have also added in lots of bits from Truly Grateful.

My background paper is one of my favourites from the Heritage collection. It’s a mauve colour but has large spots on it. I just absolutely love the colour tone of this paper! I added a large piece of white cardstock for my background and tore it off at the bottom.

I used another piece of that fussy cut rope border along the tear and also added vellum and some navy paper too. I added four photos along the bottom of the layout too – they are a sequence of photos of my little one and me hanging out together on holiday…one of the rare occasions I wasnt just chasing after him! But he wouldn’t just let us sit and chill out…he kept pinching my sunglasses!

 

I used more of the beautiful yellow flowers from Heritage to form a cluster on the side of the layout and added one of those gorgeous glittery butterflies. I also added one of the wax seals here too.

I finished off by embellishing the layout with lots of little bits from Truly Grateful.
