Mixing Collections & Starting Points
Hi Magpies, Julie back with you again today sharing 3 layouts using mainly the new Heidi Swapp collection Emerson Lane, a beautiful, classic collection of pink, navy, yellow & woodgrain. I added in a few bits from Pebbles Jen Hadfield Along the Way & Golden Rod from One Canoe Two, all the colours matched & they looked great together.
I don’t know what inspires you to create the pages you do but for me the starting point can be a number of things, the photo, a piece of paper or the title, I get inspired by many things hence the craziness of my pages…sometimes.
My first layout ‘ Hello, Be Joyful Today’ started when I saw the chevron paper, which was just asking to be fussy cut. I added the cut chevrons down the page & sewed them into place & then built my photo cluster to the right, adding die cut ephemera, photo corners, more fussy cut paper, stamps & that adorable little girl from the die cut pack from Pebbles.
My next layout started with the gorgeous chipboard thickers from One Canoe Two & the word ‘sunkissed’ perfect for my photo, go & check out those thickers in the shop, beautiful colours & every word is usable & you also get small shapes that add to your page.
I started the page by adding some ink to the top & sewing some sequins over it to represent the suns rays & then built my elements going down the page. I added the photos centrally with the title on top & added pieces of ripped paper with machine stitching over the top & added the rest of my title to these. A few stamps & ephemera finishes off the page.
My final layout also came about from the chipboard phrase thickers but also from the stamped words adding to the title.
I started by adding some mixed media to my page in soft pinks & yellows & stamped all over it with the Emerson Lane clear stamp set. I added a strip of woodgrain paper & hand stitched it onto the page. I built my photo cluster down the bottom left adding envelopes, die cut ephemera, more fussy cut flowers & another cute girl.
I love how these pages came together & the soft, muted tones of them. Thanks for joining me today, until next time xx
