Mix and Match

I was was hard pushed to choose which of the gorgeous new collections to use for my pages this month. I couldn’t pick just one, so instead I used a selection of papers and embellishments from the following paper ranges:
Simple Stories – I Am
Simple Stories – Life Documented
Heidi Swapp – Hello Beautiful
My Mind’s Eye – On Trend
Pebbles – We Go Together

I completely mixed it up for this page, using bits from all of the above collections. The pretty floral pattern from Pebbles was perfect as the backdrop for this layout about my daughter’s christening. I added touches of gold from On Trend, and some lovely hearts from Simple Stories.
Two wonderful new products from Simple Stories are their Self Adhesive Bradz and their Plastic Clips. The Bradz look just like metal rimmed enamel topped brads, but they are flat backed without any pesky prongs to poke through the page. The adhesive seems pretty strong, and the designs are gorgeous! I used one of the plastic clips above too (the pink “loved” heart) – these are made of thick, durable feeling plastic, with just enough flexibility to clip over a few layers if you wished. I’m so pleased that Simple Stories are expanding their embellishment range, it makes me happy!

My my very favourite piece of paper recently is this heart print from Simple Stories – I even bought 2 sheets, which is something I almost never do! The colours were perfect for these snaps of my son meeting Fireman Sam. You might spot a few older bits of stash that worked their way into this page in amongst the newer things. Now and again I like to use up a few things that I’ve been holding on to for too long!

This page used mainly papers from the On Trend collection. Beautiful gold foiled designs mixed with graphic prints and a fresh colour scheme made this range really stand out to me. I added a frame from Simple Stories I Am (kindly donated by a fellow creative team member during our recent scrapping weekend – thanks Claire!) in which to put my journalling. More plastic clips and self adhesive Bradz on this page too – yup I couldn’t get enough of them this month.

Finally, here’s a page featuring my little knight with a shield he made himself, with just a bit of help from daddy. I just had to add a couple of pieces from My Mind’s Eye Jubilee Tangerine, since it has a few shield icons on it – perfect! I admit to the fact that I’ve been keeping those pieces especially for knight themed pictures, having previously said I don’t really do theme matching! However, sometimes it’s just too good to be missed isn’t it?!
On that note I’ve already ordered Simple Stories Say Cheese II and Enchanted for my post next month, since we’ve recently had a holiday to Disneyland Paris, so I look forward to sharing those with you in a few weeks time.
