Mix and match Shine!

Hi!

It’s time for me, Ida, again! Yay! My favorite collection from 2015 was Shine from Maggie Holmes! I always love everything she makes. Her designs and colors always matches my photos and my life perfectly! But every collection is a bit too small for me. I’ve already used up my absolute favorites (except for the things I will hoard!)… so how can you get a collection last a bit longer?
I tend to make the same kinds of projects all the time. Pl-pages and layouts. That’s it! Some products doesn’t fit in on a pocket page or on a layout… they can be too thick or too big. Now when I don’t have as much left of the Shine collection… I needed to find other type of projects to be able to use up some thicker decorations. And I also needed to find other collections to mix and match with Shine!
I have heard a lot of nice words about the papers from Basic Grey – B-side… so I just had to buy some of them! And I fell in love! They are so pretty and easy to match with other collections!

Notebooks

For these notebooks I bought the 4*6 project life cards with grids from Becky Higgins. They have the same pattern both front and back. Perfect for a little notebook. I made the front and back covers out of chipboard and patterned paper.
I decorated the front of the notebooks with different stickers and chipboard from Crate Paper – Wonder, Maggie Holmes – Confetti and Maggie Holmes – Shine. I only used flat embellishments on one of the notebooks… because I want to be able to bring it with be in my handbag. Perfect to make notes about things I want to remember for my layouts or for my PL-spreads.

Together

I bought a lot of Christmas papers and decorations from several collections… but I had almost nothing left when I wanted to scrap my Christmas photos! What to do? Mix and match!
Some decorations from Maggie Holmes – Shine and a paper from Seven Paper Felix was all I used for this layout! I really love those birds and it felt nice to finally be able to use them! When the photos are very Christmassy you don’t really need as much Christmas theme on the layout. I love to use flowers on my layouts and I think these flowers work perfectly on a Christmas layout!
The paper with the black flowers are one of my favorite papers. I love papers that I can fussy cut and will try to hunt down some more similar papers!

Year in review – 2015

This is a new kind of project for me! A picture frame with decorated photos. I took my favorite photos from 2015 (mostly from summer) and decorated them.
For this project I wanted to use the pretty tassels from Maggie Holmes – Shine, and as many chipboard stickers as possible! I don’t really like to use chipboard stickers in my PL pages. They are a bit thick sometimes… but I always buy them!
I had a hard time taking photos of my project behind the glass… so I took it out and laid it out on a table.
The papers in this project is a mix between Maggie Holmes – Shine and Crate Paper – Hello Love. As always the collections from Crate Paper works perfectly together! To make a project feel more new to me I always bring in something from a more recent collection! Just one new paper can bring new life to all of the old decorations! 😀
