Merry Little Christmas | Pebbles | Morag Cutts
Merry Christmas Mapgies! I hope you have had a wonderful Christmas. I have been playing with Merry Little Christmas from Pebbles Inc. this month. The collection has such a lovely mix of colours and patterns – it has been my favourite to work with this month.
Merry & Bright
Jackie Ashton & I took a trip to London to see the lights and of course, get some Christmas photos. The trees in Covent Garden were so pretty.
I really liked the idea of an oversized christmas stocking. I’m not great at drawing but a stocking is within my limits 🙂 I lightly stuck white card to the Snow Friends paper and drew a simple outline. After cutting out the stocking, I then sewed blanket stitch around the outside.
To give the stocking some depth, I filled it with some fabric scraps before tucking in some glitter tulle.
Deck the Halls is a lovely dark green background – it really makes all the other colours pop. The bottom of each paper is a cute little patterned strip – I don’t normally use this but they were brilliant for adding more texture and colour to my layout.
To add some interest around my photo, I layered up the adorable stickers and finished off with adding my type journaling.
No Peeking
My cheeky little dog has found the presents under our tree rather interesting this year. I did manage to capture a few photos of him whilst we were putting up our tree before the presents were out.
To begin with I pushed some coloured texture paste through a stencil to add a little colour onto white cardstock. I then layered die-cut branches and leaves (Tim Holtz). I ‘hung’ cute stickers from the Cardstock Stickers drawing a thin line from the branch.
I also added a couple of bird stickers from the Snowflake collection.
I created a funky Christmas tree using the patterned strips from the bottom of the papers. I drew a ‘trunk’ and popped up the strips onto foam tape at wonky angles.
Well I hope that I’ve inspired you to scrap some of your Christmas photos. Thanks for stopping by.
