May time creating xoxo

Hello lovelies,
I hope that you are all very well on this May morning.  This month I have been playing with the new “Confetti” collection by Maggie Holmes.  I am a big fan of Maggie’s – I love the colours and the vintage accents and there are some lovely peices in this new collection.
For my first layout I wanted to use some of the gorgeous word phrases from the vellum and acitate peices.
I had some Heritage pictures from my Nan that I wanted to scrap and thought that they would go really well with this collection. I did some stitching on the white cardstock and then added some blue and gold splatters with mist from my stash.  There are some gorgeous gold accented papers in the “Confetti” collection which I used with some of the papers to make my mat behind the picture. The flowers are from the ephemera pack and the “Post Card” tag was attched to one of my birthday presents. I used more vellum bits as well to expand the cluster around the picture and one of the layered embellishments from the same collection.  The gold heart comes from the hardwear pack that is a new addition to the Maggie Holmes line. I love these bits of hardwear, they give you lots of more dimentional embellishments to play with. I finished the layout with some sequins from my stash and some of the gold puffy stickers.
For my second post I decided to do something a little more masculine. I picked a group shot that had pictures of my Great Uncles and Great Grandmother out for drinks one evening. I love this picture, its just so atmospheric. I decided that the blacks and yellows in the collection would work really well.
I used more if the gold accent paper and some of the black and burnt yellow ones to make the mat for the back of my picture. I love messy layers like this and use dimentional tape to add depth to them as well for more interest. I cut 3 banners from the papers to make a ribbon shape adding a yellow ephemera flower as the face and a bird from the vellum peices to embellish that cluster. Some of the phrase stickers from the collection too finished it off. I had some plain white flowers and coloured them to match the paper using my Copic pens and finished them off with a heart from the Pebbles enamel hearts.  I am really pleased with how they turned out. Another vellum flower makes the back of the cluster.
Using extra papers I made 2 banners for the top right and bottom left corners, adding some crepe paper trim to the bottoms of them.  Some of the words, a layered embellishment and another copic coloured flower finished them off nicely.
I used another one of the vellum words for my title, the white border around the letters was quite big so I trimmed them down and cut all the words apart so that I could position them where I wanted. A black heart from the chalkboard label stickers and some more gold puffy stickers and gold mist sprinkles and this layout was finished.
For my final layout I used four different papers and sewed them together with thread to form a 10×10 inch square section. I also used a stamp from the Dear Lizzy Serendipity collection to emboss the pale pink flowers around the edge of the paper.
I added a mat under the pictures again using the gold accented papers and then added some flowers from my stash to finish the page.  I tucked some of the vellum peices into the flower cluster also and used the Adorn thickers to make my title.  The smaller letters are from Dear Lizzy Serndipty too.  I used the pink bird from the hardwear from “Confetti” as well to finish off the layout.
Thats all for this month, see you again in June!
