Little Explorer – Magical Forest – Crate Paper | Amy Kattenbelt
Hello Magpies, Today I would like to share with you my second layout using Crate Paper’s ‘Magical Forest‘ collection. Its a super cute collection, with a muted colour scheme and whimsical elements.
I started by cutting a simple circular sewing hoop out of the pale wood grain paper. This is the B side of the paper called Childhood. My title uses the Thickers that come with the collection. I matted my photo in one of the papers and placed it to the bottom right, inside the hoop.
Next I cut a bunch of leaves out of 5 of the papers. Again, I used the B sides which are generally less busy and have a tone on tone pattern. To add extra detail and dimension I adding hand stitching in coordinating colours along the middle of the leaf shapes.
I layered them along the bottom half of the hoop, to form a kind of wreath effect.
Next was the fun part, layering and tucking in die cuts, cardstock stickers and stickers from the sticker book. I added a whole variety of icons and words for lots of interest.
My favourite icons are all the little animals hiding in amongst the leaves. They are just adorable! I finished the layout with a gorgeous yarn rainbow. I missed out on these the first time around because they sold out super fast, so I was very excited to get hold of them when they were restocked. It makes the layout feel extra special.
Thanks for coming to take a closer look at my layout. I will be back soon sharing even more layouts with this fun, whimsical collection.
Take care, and stay safe.
