Magical December Days

Hi Magpies, Julie back with you again today sharing 3 layouts I made using the lovely Christmas collection from Pinkfresh Studio called December Days. It’s quite a traditional colour scheme of white, blues & red with some gold accents but with all the really cute images & details Pinkfresh Studio are know for.

My first layout ‘Magical’ uses a lots of the ephemera from the die cut pack. I first added some ink & texture paste, through a stencil to a woodgrain paper from my stash & then placed my photo, on a mat of papers from the 6×6 pad, in the centre of the page. I added the die cuts to both right & left sides, layering them up & adding some foam tape. My title is one of the lovely big chipboard words from Dear Lizzy Star Gazer collection, which I inked & embossed. I finished the layout with a few die cut pine leaves, which I cut out myself.

My second layout ‘Making Spirits Bright’ uses two chipboard frames as a base for my photos. I added a bit of mixed media to my background, watercolours & texture paste & a bit of stamping. I then backed the chipboard frame with some embossed vellum & added the snowflake chipboard above that. I left my photos un-matted & added them onto the snowflake with my favourite die cut of all…that little bird on the teacup. At the top of the page I added a ripped & distressed border made from a few papers, some pleated crepe paper & some hand stitching. To finish the layout I added Elle’s Studio small acylic stars, gold stars, puffy stickers & more hand stitching & a few gold splatters.

For my last layout I went really simple, bit of a shock for me!! 🙂 I die cut the Twinkle, twinkle words on my silhouette & backed the first word with papers from the 6×6 paper pack & I painted my second word with gold ink. I put my photo in an embossed star frame & ‘hung’ it from the words with gold embroidery thread & did the same with some Elle’s Studio stars. I made a ripped border again but this time at the bottom of the layout adding gold crepe paper, a die cut & a chipboard shape. A few gold splatters finished the layout.
