Loving some Sweet Talk, Simple Stories| Julie Taylor

Hi Magpies, Julie back with you again today sharing 2 layouts using another new Simple Stories collection, Sweet Talk. It’s a valentines themed collection full of fabulous cute critters & lovely pink, red & soft blues. I decided not to go down the traditional love route & instead went for love of friends & a cute baby layout.

Forever Friends

My first layout shows myself & my good friend & fellow team mate, Jackie, enjoying an evening out to an outside cinema trip. This was obviously pre-lockdown but will hopefully resume once it’s lifted!!! I started with a sheet of white cardstock & added some ink, through a stencil, then drew around it in grey pen & added some splatters. I then started building my composition up from the bottom by adding a couple of strips of patterned paper, 2×2 elements & Love is, I distressed the edges & added one on top of the other, adding my title on there.

I added my photo, on a piece of patterned paper & built all the ephemera off that, stickers, die cuts, tags & puffy stickers.

I added a small section of a tag, up the top, & threaded some twine to link both areas together.

My second layout features a gorgeous photo of my friends cute granddaughter that was just begging to be scrapped. I again started with a sheet of white cardstock, which I first gessoed. I added different oxide inks to each quarter & then removed some of the ink through a heart stencil & sewed along the quarters to separate them.
