Loving Every Moment – Cocoa Vanilla Studio – Happy Days – Wendy Meffan

Hi Everyone! I’m sharing my second layout using Cocoa Vanilla Studio Happy Days collection. if you love bright colours then this collection is definitely one for you. I really loved the rainbow paper and knew immediately I would have to use it as a background!

Initially when I decided to use the 12×12 Rainbow Bright paper as the background I couldn’t decide how much of it to use and was only going to use the pink to yellow stripes for my photo. I then had a change of heart and decided to use it all. i also had no intention of stitching around all of the stripes. Having started sewing I then kept adding one more stripe until eventually I had sewed all of them in colour co ordinating embroidery threads. ( this became a labour of love!)

When I had finished I then used a craft knife and cut in between all the strips but not quite to the ends and distressed the edges of each side. I then attached the whole sheet to white card  stock and raised some of the stripes on sticky fixers to give some dimension to the layout.

Next I positioned my picture and then started choosing embellishments from the Floral ephemera and Die Cut ephemera. I chose to colour coordinate the embellishments with the rainbow stripes which is always such a gorgeous look.

I am a great lover of the 12×12 cut apart sheets and used the 12×12 Feel Good paper. I used some of the butterflies, hearts and small tabs from this sheet to further embellish along with some of the word phrases on it.

Finally I cut the ‘SPECIAL’ from the 12×12 Definitive paper and added it over the photo as a title

I love how this layout turned out and it was worth all the time stitching!
