Lovely, Wicked Treats!

Hi Magpies, Julie back with you today.
This month I’ve choose two collections to play with, Becky Higgins Project Life ‘Sweet Edition’ & Basic Greys B-Side.
My first layout ‘Big Treat’ is using the Sweet Edition by Becky Higgins & I choose the 6×6 paper pad, the core kit sampler & the specialty card pack- gold foil treatment to work with. As this range has no 12×12 sheets of paper in it I choose to make my own by inking, through a stencil, in various colours that matched the papers & then tearing strips from the 6×6 paper pad, adding them to the bottom 2 thirds of the inked paper & stitching them down. Above that I used a variety of the 3×4 project life cards across the page & added my photo using one of the specialty cards over the top. I cut out a few flowers from a project life card & added those around the page. I finished it off with a few splatters of gold mist, a gold bow & the title.

For my 2nd layout ‘Lovely’ I used the Basic Grey B-Side collection, I just fell in love with the bright colours in this collection & just knew they would suit my scrapping style. I first took the steller paper & lightly drew a semi-circle from top to bottom which I then inked & blew through a straw ( so the ink ran) all along the semi-circle in colours that matched the papers & added a few splatters. I then punched out plenty of triangles from the 6×6 paper pad & added those to the semi-circle, in all directions, & stitched them down using 3 different colours of thread. On the right hand side I tore 3 strips of well yes paper, so anyway paper & hey there paper, layering them up & again stitching them down, I also sprayed them lightly with water & curled the edges. I made a paper stack out of some papers from the 6×6 paper pad & added a few bits from the cardstock die-cuts pack. My title comes from the pinkfresh studio happy things-glitter foam word stickers & I used a couple of the bows off that sheet & cut them in half to make some glitter triangles to add to the page

For my final layout ‘simply wicked’ I wanted to use a piece of acetate for the background. I just love the WRMK acetate paper sheets but have only used them as layering pieces so wanted a change this time. I choose the clearly bold teal dot as I knew it would match the B-Side colours. I then splattered a piece of white cardstock before punching out different sized circles & cutting it into 4 strips which I adhered to the acetate with stitching. I then punched out the 2 sizes of circles in a variety of papers from the 6×6 paper pad & again adhered those inside the punched out circles again with stitching, this allowed me to pull them up giving them some dimension. I made a paper stack for my photos to sit on, adding a few bits from the die-cuts pack. I added a few circles out of the cardstock fold-over photo frames to some of the circles & a few extra circles to the top left & bottom right & added my title to finish it off.
