Lovely Day by Dear Lizzy

The Prettiest Flower Shop - Crop 1
I was really looking forward to getting my hands on the new Dear Lizzy collection ‘Lovely Day’, the colour palette is beautiful and there’s lots of fabulous florals and cute animals. It doesn’t disappoint. Although I do feel I need a trip to France to do some of the embellishments justice!
I have three layouts to share this month, so let’s start with this one…’The Prettiest Flower Shop’.
The Prettiest Flower Shop Layout
The first two layouts feature my favourite two pieces of patterned paper, the lovely floral paper ‘Lovely Day‘ and the pale blue text paper ‘More Play‘ (the a-side has bikes and scooters). I simply added a strip of scrap white cardstock across the join between the two pieces of paper and used both the a and b side of the ‘Darling Daisy’ paper for the photo mat. Around the photo I clustered a layered camera sticker, a die-cut bouquet and word ‘love’ from the ephemera pack and added a heart, floral and word strips from the Accents & Phrases Sticker Pack.

The title is made from the co-ordinating ‘Bonjour Alpha Chipboard Thickers’, which I’ve stitched with my sewing machine to hold them firmly in place. And finally a layered posy from the Layered Stickers pack is placed to the right.

(Wild &) Wool - Layout
I couldn’t help myself, I loved the paper combination in the first layout so much that I went ahead and used it again for this layout. At least they will look great opposite each other in the album and the stories are from the same day out in Bath so that is totally ok!

I just had to use those cute animals, and they were perfect for this story about a lovely yarn shop in Bath called Wool. Their Christmas window display featured some amazing dapper looking felted animals made by Wild & Wool, now you can see why I entitled the page (Wild &) Wool. Actually there was no brackets in the thicker pack, which is unusual, so instead I simply cut a zero in half.

I used animals from the Layered Sticker pack, the Accents & Phrases Sticker pack and the Puffy Stickers pack.

‘You @ 13’ layout.
You @ 13
My first two layouts were very girly with the florals, animals and pastel colours so for my last layout I made a boy layout about my eldest son. I used a grey piece of cardstock for the background, tore a piece of ‘You’re So Cool’ paper for a photo mat and cut a tag ‘Just Be Cool’ from the ‘Hey, Hey, Hey’ cut apart paper. I punched a hole in the tag and threaded bakers twine through it. I mounted the photo on a piece of craft foam to lift it off the page, a favourite thing to do at the moment, you’ll notice I’ve done that to all my photos!

The yellow word strip banner at the top is also from the cut apart paper and the little hearts are from the puffy sticker pack. The title uses those fabulous thickers and happily I could make it all in the colours yellow and pale blue, although I did cheat for the number 1 by snipping the top bit off a letter I! To the left of the tag is the word ‘Hey’ which is from the Accents & Phrases Sticker Sheet, I’ve popped it up on foam pads to make it higher than the tag. The hearts and phrase cluster below are also stickers from this pack.

Below the photo is a die-cut circle from the Ephemera pack which I’ve popped up on foam pads, yes I love adding dimension! I’ve journaled in white pen directly on to the cardstock background, I was feeling brave, and beneath that is a phrase strip from the Accents & Phrases Sticker Sheet.
I definitely plan to make cards using this collection, it’s very versatile and the puffy stickers will make perfect little accents to cards.
