Forever my always & watercolours…

Whilst looking in the shop Ive noticed an increase in mixed media products on sale & thought I would try and use watercolours  on my pages this time. I chose the Pebbles  valentine range – Forever my always to create with. I liked the colours of the papers plus there is very little reverence to Valentines day which is fine with me as I wanted to create pages about family and friendship with them.

For my first page I wanted to use the blue mini dots paper as my background. I mounted my photo on lots of layers over the paint effect. I added some of the speciality paper with embossed gold in at the top after ripping and rolling the wet edge of the blue paper, a technique I saw our Julie Taylor do at a recent retreat.

I used my watercolour paints with the packaging technique on the background and added gold splatters over this. Unfortunately the background paper didn’t appreciate the water & buckled quite a lot but hopefully it will flatten out in my album. I added a further cluster under the rolled edge with more flowers cut from the foiled speciality paper.

For my second page I used my watercolour paints on water colour paper this time painting a variegated rough square shape. Once this was dry I added some stamping over this.

I layered my photo on to papers from the 6×6 pad & tore the lower edges. I fussy cut lots of flowers from the Date Night paper and added them on foam pads. I added some wood veneers which I had painted pink  & some small hearts .

For my last page I created a die cut to echo the heart on the sticker sheet which I then backed with various designs from the 6×6 paper pad.

I used my watercolour paints to add  some colour to the edge of the large heart & then add a few splatters, a technique I’d seen our Sam Ball do recently. I reattached the back filled heart on foam pads slightly off to one side to form a shadow effect. Again I mounted the photo on 6×6 patterned papers before embellishing with stickers & die cuts.
