Looking on the Bright Side of Life with Jen Hadfield

Hi Magpies I hope you are all having a good start to the month of September.  It’s my favourite month as it’s the start of meteorological Autumn and a start of new beginning for so many people.
This month I have 3 layouts to share with you, and I am using the Jen Hadfield collection My Bright Life.  I have a share of the papers over on my YouTube channel, where you can see the beautiful colours in more detail.  I also will be sharing the process of making these layouts on my channel too over the coming week.
I love her collections, and this is another one that does not fail to bring me joy.  This is more of a summer themed collection like her last one Patio Party, but the icons feature can work for lots of different types of layouts.  I have used it for travel as well as everyday pages, and the stickers are fantastic for planners.

My first page is a travel page and I love the bright colours in this collection, especially the mustard tone, which seems to be sneaking in to my wardrobe and life much more recently.
I have used a map cut file on the background to tie it in to the rest of the album, it also helps to tone down the background, if it is a bit too bright for you.

I used one of the cut apart recipe cards for my journaling block and made a small embellishment cluster on top of this using the stickers and die cuts.  The die cuts would be great for you if you are a card maker, by the sentiments can easily be covered.

My second page is another travel page and again I have utilised one of the recipes card as a journaling block.

I like to do a layout where the photos and embellishments fill half the page, I think it gives a really striking look.

I used an assortment of embellishments, pulling in some pieces form my stash to make it fit with the travel theme.  I also used a couple of silhouette store cut files to help my embellishment clusters along the way.

For my finial page I am sharing I really wanted to make the most of the beautiful colours in the floral papers and knew putting it against this navy background would really make it pop.

I use a cut a part card for the title of the layout, as well as creating an embellishment cluster using the die cuts and stickers.  I am going to add my journaling in white pen, as it will stand out great against the background.

I have really enjoyed this collection, and I have used it in a couple of spreads in my memory keeping planner too, I will share these on my YouTube channel in the coming weeks too.
Have a wonderful month and I will see you next month.
