Lockdown Hair | Jo Boland
How’s your lockdown locks looking? I decided that now was as good a time as any to be brave and dye my hair red. As you can see on my brown hair the ‘vermillion red’ was tamed some what, maybe that’s a good thing? Either way, I love it.
For this scrapbook layout I used the Maggie Holmes Sweet Story collection, opting for an analogous colour harmony in pink, orange and yellow. My base patterned paper is Soft Serve (I gutted the centre to use later). On top I adhered an 11 1/4″ square piece of white cardstock.
I matted my photo on a rectangular piece of Soft Serve paper, this time with the striped b-side showing. This gave me somewhere to write my journaling. I fussy cut from flowers and leaves from the Buttercup paper to use as extra ‘die-cut ephemera pieces’. These were clustered around the photo along with cardstock stickers, die-cut ephemera pieces, clear and word stickers, and a layered butterfly. The deep pink/red piece is from the Confection cut-apart paper.
I popped up the edges with foam pads for extra dimension.
My title is made up from clear letter stickers from the sticker book and the pink thickers from the Sweet Story collection. These are stuck on a piece of Buttercup paper cut from the b-side which includes a section of the branding strip. I added an orange chipboard sticker star and a die-cut bow to repeat the colours on this part of the layout. My journaling was written on the lined paper and a puffy rainbow sticker added. To me the rainbow will always be synonymous with this pandemic and lockdown. Finally I added some gold splatters and bent over the edges of the cardstock.
Thanks for stopping by, see you later in the month
