Life Is Just Peachy! – Simple Stories – Good Stuff – Wendy Meffan
Hi Everyone! April is here and I’m back on the blog and this month I’m using Simple Stories Good Stuff Collection. I loved the bright colours in this collection and the feel good factor to it.
I started the layout with a mixed media background using Kitch Flamingo distress oxide to coordinate with the colours in the collection. I added some small splatters across the page.
In this collection there is a cut apart sheet for each month of the year and on each sheet there are file box divider type pieces all with different titles, I chose the June 12×12 sheet as I liked the Good Times title as a focus for the layout and cut out the card. It also allowed me to have some journalling space along side the photo. I attached the photo on sticky fixers to add some dimension onto the card. I then fussy cut a flower cluster from the February 12×12 cut apart sheet along with some flowers from the B side of the April 12×12 cut apart sheet. I added a large rainbow from the sticker sheet behind the floral cluster.
I added some chipboard elements to the photo and some stickers from the cardstock sticker sheet.
Having concentrated on the left side of the photo I then added some floral ephemera along with some more fussy cut flowers to the right side of the photo to balance the layout. I used the striped border strip along the base of the photo and added some butterflies from the sticker and chipboard sheets.
At this point I felt the layout looked a little unfinished and there was too much white space, so I used the 6×8 paper pad and tore some of the sheets to edge the top and bottom of the layout. I raised the edges on sticky fixers again for dimension.
Finally I added the hanging basket sticker to the top right of the layout which I felt balanced the layout and attached a few decorative brads randomly.
I was pleased with the final result and loved using the bright colours of this collection. I will be sharing a very different layout at the end of the month using this collection showing how it can be used alternatively. It is a great collection for Project Life too.
Don’t forget to post your layouts in the Hey Little Magpie Scrapbook and Inspiration facebook page as we love to see your creativity.
Until next time… Happy Scrapping!
