Life Captured Scrapbook Layout – Simple Stories – Take Note Collection – Wendy Meffan

Here is my third layout for January using the Simple Stories Take Note collection which was perfect to document our Hey Little Magpie Design Team weekend away September. It was great fun meeting team members who I only talk to on facebook because of the distance between where we live.

I cropped a 12×12 piece of white cardstock to 11.5 x11.5″, and gutted the 12×12 In the Moment paper. I used this as a border for the layout. I used a large 6×4 photo for my layout of the some of the design team team who were able to come away, which I matted on the green grid paper. I then started to build up a large photo mat behind it using pieces from the office ephemera pack and papers from the 6×4 paper pad. I distressed the edges of all the layers before sticking them all down, and raised parts on sticky fixers to give more dimension.

I used floral clusters from the floral ephemera, the office ephemera and foam stickers to embellish around the photo. The type writer was great as I was able to journal about the weekend in the paper slot! I added a few decorate brads, again to give a bit more dimension. I chose the pens and crayons from the foam stickers to tie in with us being crafty girls away!

Finally I added a couple of tags below the photo rom the 12×12 tag sheet and then used the Life Captured office ephemera as a title for my layout. I also drew a fine black line around the edge of the layout to give more definition.
