Let’s Wander Again – Vicki Boutin | Sheena Rowlands
Hi there Sheena here again.
Today I am sharing with you two more layouts I’ve created using this versatile range from American Crafts, Let’s Wander designed by Vicki Boutin. I’ve concentrated on the travel themed elements more for this post using Lockdown as a chance to record some recent and older memories.
Las Vegas.
For my first layout I wanted to include a selection of photos from a very memorable trip to Vegas back in 2018. I thought a grid style layout would be perfect for this. As Vegas is very much larger than life I wanted to include some of the large ephemera pieces in the range. I laid out the ephemera before printing my photos to fit the journalling cards.
I used foam pads to add some depth when adhering everything down then began adding stickers and chipboard pieces to fill any gaps. I left a white border around the grid to stop the page looking too crazy and give your eyes a break.
To finish I coloured the Lets Wander Thicker alphabet with distress oxide ink to coordinate with this range.
The Locks.
For my second layout I wanted to use photos we had taken on a recent local walk along some locks.
I loved the Vicki Boutin ready to use mixed media papers and chose this blue one as my background. I wanted to break the colour up a little so using the Lets Wander wave mask, I used white acrylic paint through it working down the page. I let this dry throughly then lightly painted over the white with watered down Distress Oxide inks.
I then gathered any ephemera in shades of blue and green or which had a watery feel and created a horizontal design tucking them in around my photographs. I used more Distress Oxide inks to ombre the Let’s wander thinkers to complete my title.
I hope these provide some inspiration for this wonderful Vicki Boutin – Let’s Wander range. Please share with us your creations over on our FB group.
Till next time x
