Let’s Get Away! – Simple Stories – Let’s Go – Wendy Meffan
Hi Everyone! It’s Wendy here sharing my first layout for July and this month I’m using Simple Stories Let’s Go Collection. I do love a travel layout and am just loving this collection as much as ever. I love all the pastels in this collection and all the different map pages making it really versatile.
Every Simple Stories Collection comes with a set of larger chipboard frames, I always tend to avoid them but decided to go for them this time and show case them in my layout. Firstly I used mixed media and created a background around where the frame would be. I used distress oxides. I then chose a large 7×5 frame as it had a plane on it and my photo was of us literally boarding so I felt it was perfect. I used a 5×3″ photo inside it.
I’m a great fan of tags and cut apart sheets, so ordered the 12×12 Tags Paper and the 12×12 Journal Elements Paper and then cut them up into all their individual pieces. I then chose to embellish either side of the photo frame.
To the right I used a tag along with a chipboard sticker and I fussy cut the globe from the 6×8 paper pad. I used the smaller version of the 12×12 Enjoy the Ride Paper in the 6×8 paper pad and fussy cut a selection of the number plates. I distressed all the edges and then tucked them under the frame making an embellishment cluster.
I then concentrated on the left side of the layout and used the Fun Vacation ticket from the cut apart sheet, I added some chipboard stickers to it along with the fussy cut number plates. I tucked in a tag at the top along with a chipboard sticker.
I wanted to use the map papers too so tore a few strips from each and used them as a border top and bottom of the layout. I raised their edges on sticky fixers for some dimension. At the top of the layout I strung together a set of fussy cut mini travel tags from the 6×8 paper pad. Again I raised them all in sticky fixers.
At the bottom of the layout I tucked in some more fussy cut number plates and a few stickers from the 12×12 sticker sheet.
Finally I added a few decorative brads around the layout with a few more chipboard stickers, and the title over the photo frame from the foam stickers.
I loved creating this layout as the collection is so gorgeous and it also brought back happy memories of being able to travel again.
