Legendary Part 2 – Cocoa Vanilla Studio | Caroline Aston

Hello Magpies, I hope you are all keeping safe and well. Today, I have two more layouts to share with you featuring the new Legendary collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio. I have really enjoyed working with this collection this month. It has some lovely patterned papers. As well as Cocoa Vanilla Studio’s usual collection of fantastic embellishments.

Hey You

For my first layout I wanted to use the absolutely fabulous Explorer Paper. I love the fab mandala print in this collection. Therefore, I wanted to keep the majority of it visible on the page.

I started by adding some hand sewing to the mandala. Picking four colours of embroidery floss, that matched colours in the collection. I chose to sew around the straight lines on the mandala. Alternating the colours of floss. This gave the background some added colour and texture.

To put together the photo cluster, I selected papers from the 6×8” Paper Stack. Layering them behind the photo. Also cutting the yellow Wild One Paper into a banner to form a horizontal base to the cluster.

For the embellishment, I added some of the Accessory Stickers. As well as the Camera and Photograph Details stamps from the Elle’s Studio Say Cheese Clear Stamp Set. I chose to stamp these in a grey ink to match the colour of the mandala.

I finished the page with a few wood veneer stars and a perspex geotag. Choosing to keep the layout purely decorative, not adding a specific title or any journaling.

Just A Little Bit Of Sand!

The starting point for my second layout was the woodgrain frame from the Die Cut Ephemera pack.

I used the frame as a template, to cut two more from two of the 6×8” papers. Then printed my photos at slightly larger than 3×3” to fit within the frame.

I positioned my three frames across the centre of the layout. Then added lines of hand sewing in the same colours as the frames, to the base cardstock behind them.

To embellish the layout and the frames, I used pieces from the Accessory Stickers and the Clear Stickers. Along with a couple of Elle’s Studio stamps and some wood veneers. Then added my title with letter stickers from both Pinkfresh Studio and Pink Paislee.

To create my journaling card I used a dot grid stamp from the Elle’s Studio Noted Vol. 2 Clear Stamp Set. Which I then matted onto a piece of woodgrain paper and positioned it at the bottom of the page. Adding the date to one of the label stickers from the sticker sheet.

That’s all from me today, thank you for stopping by. You can find the Legendary collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio in the shop here.

I will be back again next month, so until then Happy Scrapping!
