Legendary – Cocoa Vanilla Studio | Caroline Aston
Hello Magpies, this month I have been working with the fabulous new Legendary collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio. It is predominately a boys collection, however there are lots of really versatile patterned papers included. Along with some really useable stickers and die cuts in the embellishments.
Adventure Awaits
My first layout is created mostly using papers from the 6×8” Paper Stack and the Die Cut Ephemera pack. I loved the “Explore The Great Outdoors” die cut from the pack and it was the inspiration for this layout.
I started by selecting two photos that matched the die cut. Printing them at 3×4” and matting them onto white card. Which, I then matted again onto a piece of the green and white diagonal striped paper. I decided I wanted to create a grid style design in the centre of the page, with the journalling in the middle.
To do this I first worked out where I wanted to position my photos on the page. Then added some drops of ink, using Vicki Boutin’s Watercolour Markers, before adhering the photos to the page. To build up the grid I cut different sized strips of three different designs. Choosing colours that featured in my photos and reminded me of being outside.
I chose two areas for the embellishments, which form a diagonal line across the page. Using some more of the die cuts and a couple of pieces from the 6×8” cut apart sheet. I added my title to the bottom half of the page using one of the Clear Stickers and some Thickers from a previous Pink Paislee collection.
To finish the page, I added the date below the photos with a roller date stamp and my journaling to the middle of the page.
Anything Off The Trolley Dears?
My second layout again features two 3×4” photos, however this time I chose one of the 12×12” patterned papers to work with.
I used both the A & B sides of the One Way Paper, cutting a 6” wide piece of the A side and then a thinner strip of the B side approximately 1” wide. Positioning the paper vertically on the page.
I added my two 3×4” photos towards the bottom right of the page. Making sure to overlap the patterned paper. This collection includes lots of stars, which I used for the embellishment on this page. I chose four blue stars from the die cut pack which I wanted to keep on the plain white part of the layout to make them stand out. Before adhering them to the page, I traced these die cut stars and cut some more from the orange B side. As well as one from just a plain piece of white card. I also added some stars from the clear sticker sheet next to the die cut stars.
I built up a cluster of embellishments at the bottom left of the photos. Using my fussy cut stars and some of the die cut pieces. To complete the visual diagonal line across the page I added the white star, which I had stamped with a journaling line stamp and matted onto the orange paper to create a journaling spot.
To finish off the page I added my title below the photos using some small puffy letter stickers from Pinkfresh Studios.
That’s all from me today, I hope you have enjoyed seeing the Legendary collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio. You can find the collection in the shop here.
I will be back again soon, with more from Legendary by Cocoa Vanilla Studio.
