Layouts with Maggie Holmes – Gather
You all know by now that Maggie Holmes is my favorite! She’s got a new collection out now called Gather. It’s a very typical Maggie Holmes collection with flowers, soft colors and gold. Apart from all the items she always have in her collections (ephemera, stickers, thickers and phrase stickers) she always tries new things… The news in Gather are the mini tassels, the rub-on pens and the glitter washi. The tassels are adorable! One pack contains 18 tassels in three different colors. The colors match the bigger tassels from Bloom. The rub-on pens are a great idea. One with hearts and one with phrases. I need some practice with them before I use them on a project! I forgot to buy the glitter washi tapes but have ordered them now. Seems to be perfect for christmas… and they will match any collection I guess!
So what did I do with all the goodies from Maggie Holmes? I made 4 layouts… and I tried to make them as different as I could. Both feminine and masculine layouts to show how versatile the collection is
For this layout I focused on the lovely woodgrain paper called My Story. I matched the red in my photos with the a-side of the Blush paper from the 6*6 paper pad. I had some bright pink on my photos that I needed to cover up…. so I used a bunch of decorations from the ephemera pack (I always buy two packs). The title is from the accent chipboard sheet.
This makes me smile
I just love the b-side of the Love paper! So pretty! I thought of using it as it was… but I decided to use it when I saw how perfect it matched the photo of my husband and daughter! I added some woodgrain paper here too, but from the 6*6 paper pad. Some stickers, ephemera and the lovely foiled flair badge from Hey Little Magpie was all this layout needed!
Gin & Tonic
This layout is called Gin & Tonic. My favorite drink! My daughter is after the ice in the glass… not the gin! 😀 In the photo it really looks like she loves a GT as much as I do!!!
I don’t use cut files so often. But I really like this one and have used it before. This background paper is from Simple Stories and the title is some older Crate Paper thickers. The 6*6 paper pad is really great when you need layers behind a photo. It feels better to cut into a 6*6 paper than a 12*12 paper.

The Kindred paper gave me some trouble! I totally loved both sides of it! But I needed to choose one of them! I chose the b-side with the leather print. So pretty!
The acetate flowers in the ephemera pack is my all time favorite. They are stunning and gives such a nice touch to the layout. Here I used both of the thickers pack from the collection. Gold and black – a perfect match!
I finished it off with some wood veneer stars, gold mist and stamping!
