Hi Magpies,
Happy New Year! And I’m sure we’re all hoping for a better one than 2020!
Though we’re in the middle of winter I have two layouts to share today which are decidedly autumn themed. I don’t scrapbook chronologically and this collection was so colourful that I wanted to use it for my first 2021 post.
Layout 1.
My first layout started with some mixed media which I applied with stencils, stamps and droplets of ink. I chose the main stencil for the background to work with the stripes in the Cutfiles.
Next, I backfilled my title cutfile and glued it slightly off centre to allow space for my photo.
I layered the photo with some patterned papers, some of which I distressed, then I added a circular layer behind that. I tucked a tag behind the photo for my journalling.
I added stickers and die cuts from the ephemera pack to add interest on the photo cluster. And some bright yellow enamel dots finished it all off.
Layout 2
One of the papers in this collection is a beautiful floral design that I wanted to use as the background for my second page.
It was a little busy though, so I cut a circular leafy cutfile and placed it in the centre of the paper. I drew round the outside edge of the cutfile and trimmed that shape from the middle of the floral paper.
I backed it with a creamy coloured cardstock which gave me a plain space to add my photos and embellishments. I backfilled the cutfile and using foam dots, I glued it down to line up with the shape I had previously cut. I needed a lot of concentration to get that right!
Then I layered up my photo and tucked it under the left of the cutfile leaves. I trimmed the scalloped edges from a copper foiled die cut which I used to frame the photo.
I finished the page by adding a phrase sticker with some leaf die cuts and a copper foiled heart.
I’ll be back later in the month with two more autumn coloured layouts, until then, happy scrapping everyone!
