Kate & Ash | Simple Stories | Morag Cutts
Hi there friends. I am back with my final two layouts for August using the fun Kate & Ash collection from Simple Stories.
Shine Bright
The kids grow up so quickly that you forget how cute they were when they were little 🙂 This cute photo was taken in a playground copmletely by chance but I love it!
I decorated the white cardstock using a text background stamp. To ensure the stamping wasn’t too dark, I stamped onto a piece of scrap paper first and used the second and third impressions. I then added more stamping and a bit of texture paste for more detail.
To create a border and add a little drama, I edged the photo with a glittery die-cut and some of the Kate & Ash washi tape.
I matted the photo onto papers – Hey Girl, and U R Beautiful. To add interest to the cluster, I used more punched and die-cut papers and stitched some of the elements. That adorable crown is from the 6×12″ Chipboard pack.
Finally I added more washi tape and stickers from the 12×12″ Combo Sticker sheet. Adding a little sewing to the washi tape created a nice bit of extra texture.
Love Yo’ Selfie
Fellow team member Julie Taylor and I love a SnapChat selfie when we get together. It can make things look bright even on the dullest of days!
To really show off the cute photos I kept the layout simple with a loose grid format. I started by painting onto the background using pink acrylic paint.
The title was cut from the 3×4 Elements paper and I punched a hole at the top and bottom to thread the twine through which went the full length of the layout. I topped it off with a charm and tassle from my stash.
The 6×12″ Chipboard pack and die-cut bits and pieces pack are my favourites, there are so many fun designs in each one.
I hope I have inspired you to try out this fun collection. You can see the full Kate & Ash range here. Thanks for stopping by.
