Just a Little Lovely | Giselle Homer

Hello again Magpies, summer is coming to a close and I’m sure many of you are getting children ready for going back to school in the next few days. Will you have more free time to scrap though?!

My first two layouts for this month use the very gorgeous Pinkfresh Studio’s latest collection called ‘Just a Little Lovely’ and it is exactly that – lovely! With delicate colours and floral designs and plenty of embellishments, two alphabets and phrase stickers.

I started this one by sewing lots of lines (not straight!) across the middle of the base paper. Then I added some paint using a dry brush method. To do this you need to use a small amount of diluted paint but don’t dip the brush in any water before applying it.

I backed my photo and glued it to the base slightly off centre and over the stitched lines. Then I used the white puffy alphabet to make the title vertically along the right side of the photo.

Then I added some of the gorgeous acetate flowers and some white die cut flowers around it.

I added a phrase die cut placed inside a frame under the left corner of the photo. Then, using the smaller, multi-coloured alphabet, I placed the name below the flowers with another small phrase sticker.

A few enamel dots scattered around finished off the page.

My second layout uses a large cut file, which I couldn’t resist, for a layout about a scrapping retreat I went to with my friends.

I added two patterned papers behind the photo and tucked it alongside the cut file on the right. I back filled the words using just one patterned paper to keep it coordinated.

I used the small puffy alphabet to add the names and highlighted them with enamel dots.

Then I placed acetate flowers above the photo and below the cut file.

Finally I added a flair and a few phrase stickers, plus more enamel dots.

I don’t think a layout is finished without enamel dots! Because of the simplicity of this layout it came together quite quickly. Large cut files certainly are a great addition to a layout!

I’ll be back later in the month with two more pages using this fab collection. Until then, happy scrapping everyone.
