June Happiness part II

Hey Magpies! I am back with my second post using the amazing Happiness collection from Cocoa Vanilla. This is a wonderful collection and if you haven’t seen it or taken a closer look at it, you really should because it’s fab, versatile and works for so many types of projects.

My first LO I created a big background with Vicki Boutin Silver Glaze and her Palette Knife. I used an old 12×12 stencil I had in my stash but have you checked out the stencils available at Hey Little Magpie lately? I hadn’t and I was pleasantly surprised at how many there are! You could definitely get the same effect as I have got here, using this Distressed Chevron stencil.

I layered up a whole lot of papers from the 6×8″ Paper Pad behind my photo and then made some borders top and bottom as well. Then all I needed was some little banners from the Ephemera pack and the Sticker sheet and some of the butterflies and flowers. After the impact of my chevron background I didn’t need to add too much to finish this LO off.

Here’s a close up to see that lush silver glaze in action!

I had to use the amazing striped Good Vibes paper as a background because it’s so lush! It makes an amazing border as I have shown above but you can use it as a background and not have to add much more to create a wow. I used some paper scraps that were on my desk and some from the 6×8 Paper Pad and my title uses one of the words from the Die Cut Titles pack and also some old letters from my stash (and if MME happens to be reading this, please bring back this amazing alphabet, it’s the BEST!).

I did not need to add much to this LO to finish it. I added some washi tape, some bits from the Ephemera pack, some Nuvo Drops and one of the fabulous little Gold Star Charms from Crate Paper’s All Heart collection.

Just a quick close up to show some details.

I really wanted to use the Botanical Bliss paper as a background as well, full on patterned backgrounds aren’t usually my thing, I’m usually a white or black background kinda girl. But this beautiful floral paper, I had to try and make it work! I went 9×12″ so it wasn’t ‘quite’ so overwhelming for me. I layered my photo on some papers that were on my desk and some from the 6×8″ Paper Pad – in fact I cut the cover off that and used it to get the stripes!

My title came about with one of the frames from the Frame of Mind paper and then I added some small Thickers from an older Paige Evans collection. With the busy background I didn’t need to embellish much, so a sticker from the Sticker sheet and a pot of flowers from the Ephemera pack were enough. And another of the Gold Star Charms from All Heart.

So there you go Magpies, the Happiness collection is AMAZING! You need this in your life, it’s very versatile and can fit so many projects and types of photos. I’ll be back next month with something new, see you then!
