It’s Christmas … Simple Stories – North Pole | Jackie Ashton
Hi Magpies, Jackie here with my first set of layouts for October, and I’ve decided to get into the Christmas spirit and do some Christmas layouts. I choose one the many Christmas collections in the store, Simple Stories – Simple Vintage North Pole
As you can see from this range it as the traditional red and green colours, but also a lovely fresh pale blue tones added into the mixed which makes it traditional but also have a modern fresh feel to it.
I love Christmas, everything about it … music, carols, shopping, food, drinks, and just that everyone is so jolly at this time of year. And yes this year will be a totally different experience for everyone, a lot of things that won’t be happening, I won’t be visiting any Christmas markets, which is definitely one of the things on my list each year, but I’m still looking forward to it, and planning to enjoy the season the best we can under the circumstances.
And as scrapbooking in a place to document our lives, I went back and choose some photographs from past years, that all bring me joy and give me a tiny reminder of the forthcoming season.
Merry & Bright
To start this page, I added some inked stars to the background using a stencil, and then adding a 5 inch of patterned paper across the middle. I added 3D foam to my photograph and added over the top of some hessian from my stash and added to the middle of the patterned paper. Then choose two of the 3×4 cards from the snapcards from this range, one with words and the other to add some journalling and added them to either side of my photograph.
I added the title from the Foam Stickers sheet, and then add 3 embellishment clusters around the page, adding stickers from the Sticker book, Sticker sheet, die cuts and puffy stars from the Foam Sticker sheet.
It’s The Real Thing …
This was our first visit to see the Coca Cola truck and it didn’t disappoint, it was a long wait and it was so cold, but the evening and the atmosphere was so much fun.
I started by added some stencilled detail down the right hand side of the cardstock.
Overlaying this was a piece of patterned paper Cool Yule, which as a lovely faint design on the As-side, I added some gold machine stitching around the edge, and also distressed the edges before adhering it to my cardstock.
Using a 3×4 photograph I added various patterned papers from the 6×8 pad and adhered it over the green paper.
I finished the layout with foam holly leaves from the Foam Sticker sheet, and stickers from the Sticker book.
I hope that these give you some ideas of how to use this fabulous collection.
Don’t forgot to share your layouts over on our Facebook Group, we would love to see them.
Also I’ve set this month challenge, you can find all the details here.
I’ll be back later in the month with a few more Christmas layouts.
Till next time
Happy scrapping
