it’s Christmas – pt 2 | Simple Stories – North Pole | Jackie Ashton
Hi Magpies, Jackie back again with two Christmas layouts using the fabulous Simple Stories – Simple Vintage North Pole collection.
Ho Ho Ho
For my first layout, I used this Simple Stories – Simple Vintage North Pole – Dear Santa paper as the background. I love this design but often seeing a paper with such an big design on, can be daunting as it can be hard to decide how to make it work for your photograph.
So I started by just concentrating on the righthand side of the paper, added some stenciled detail the the paper, where my photographs was going to be placed.
Behind my photograph, I added several patterned papers from the 6×8 pad at a slight angle to add some interest, along with some vellum for extra texture.
Then I used die cuts, stickers from the Sticker sheet and the Sticker book and added around the photograph.
For the title I used words from the Foam Stickers sheet.
Then I decided that I needed to add some extra detail over the printed area, so using the same stencil, I added some detail over the printed pattern, and added a few extra word stickers from the sticker book.
Jolly
I started this layout by adding a strip of patterned paper across the centre of my cardstock, and added a piece from the Cool Yule paper behind, and cut a 3×4 snapcard adding below – so I can add my journalling and the waste to the top as an extra layer, which helps to bring the design of the journalling card to another part of my page.
I added 3D foam to all my photographs, and added the year to some vellum and stapled them to the bottom of each photograph.
I added the ‘jolly’ word from the Foam Sticker sheet and finished the layouts adding various stickers from the Sticker book.
At the top of the page, I added one of the large banner stickers, adding 3d foam to give it extra dimension on my page.
I’ve loved working with this collection this month, and getting some of my Christmas photographs documented.
Don’t forget to share your layouts over on our Facebook Group, we would love to see them.
Till next time
Happy scrapping
