It’s all Hocus Pocus with Crate Paper Hey Pumpkin | Niki Rowland
Hi everyone, this is Niki here with you today and I’m sharing Halloween layouts today using Crate Paper Hey Pumpkin. I scrap my Halloween photos after Halloween becuase I need to wait until Halloween has happened before I can take photos lol. I see so many layouts in the run-up to Halloween but as I don’t want to scrap previous years photos (becuase I did them all last year!) I do my scrapbooking after the event, not before. So that’s why I’m a bit late to the party and why I’m still scrapping Halloween whilst everyone else has moved on to Christmas!
From the Hey Pumpkin collection I had these products to play with: 12×12 papers, Chipboard elements, Black & Holographic Silver Foam Thickers, and the Die Cut Ephemera.
The Crate Paper Hey Pumpkin collection is absolutely awesome. It’s really cute, true Crate Paper Style and collections like this make scrapbooking with them super-duper easy. For this first layout ‘Hocus Pocus’ I have fussy cut out large spiderwebs from one of the patterned papers. I’ve used these as a base to go behind my photo.
I’ve tied black and white twine around the whole layout. I’ve then kept my layout to a vertical design, following the twine. I’ve then added lots of bits and pieces. In particular I used the ephemera and the chipboard sheet. I distressed the edges of the ephemera pieces and I finished off by adding sequins and splatters. My title ‘Hocus Pocus’ actually came from a set of Thickers from one of last years Halloween collections but I still had them in my stash so I figured I would get them used.
For my second layout, ‘Ghostly Ghoul’ I’ve used just the top part of my page to create my layout. I don’t usually like Halloween layouts on white backgrounds but I really like how this layout turned out. I used a large strip of patterned paper across the top and another smaller strip underneath it. I distressed the edges.
I added a few squares which were from the cut-apart sheet in the Hey Pumpkin collection. I distressed the edges of these too. I added a glittery chipboard frame behind the photo and then added several pumpkins – from the ephemera, cut apart and chipboard sheet. I also added some Perspextives from last year’s Bramble Fox Halloween releases.
The word ‘ghostly’ came from that same set of phrase Thickers I had left over from last year, but the word ‘Ghoul’ is from the Hey Pumpkin Thickers. I love these Thickers, they are black with holographic silver lines and are foam so they stick really well.
I added twiddles of gold thread, a few acrylic stars and sequins and enamel dots.
I hope you have enjoyed these two layouts. I will be back with two more Hey Pumpkin layouts later this month.
Happy scrapping xx
