It's a Joyful Day!

Hello again Magpies, it’s officially Spring now and I’m sharing a couple of layouts using Pinkfresh Studios ‘Joyful Day’ which is definitely spring-like!  The colour mix in this collection is quite versatile; while a lot of it is pink and flowery there’s enough contrasting items that can be used for more boyish layouts. More of that in my next post later this month.
Firstly for today I have an 8.5″ x 11″ layout that takes advantage of the paper with lots of floral circles. First I sprayed my page with pale green ink and added a few drops too. I cut my photo into a circle to keep to the theme and fussy cut a flowery circle to go behind it, slightly off to the left.

I fussy cut a smaller circle and added it to the right of the photo, with a puffy sticker on top.

I chose my title from the pack of Thickers words and placed it below the photo, with two more circles, one of which is a chipboard frame.

The alphabet in this collection is very pretty, it has lots of tiny multicoloured letters that are always so useful. I used them to add my daughter’s name alongside her photo, because there was a bit of negative space in that area! I also added three little tassels from my own stash just because they matched the colours of Joyful Day!

To finish I just popped a few puffy stickers, enamel dots and word tags around the page and added a journaling tag to the lower left.

My second layout this month is quite different as it’s based on a grid pattern, so it’s a little more formal. I wanted to show how all the patterns in the collection could be used together, so I cut a grid background on my Silhouette.

I backed the squares with patterned paper and white cardstock. I left a space in the centre for my photo which is backed with white and two of the darker papers to help make it the focal point.
Once I had decided that the arrangement of squares were ok, I added another sheet of cardstock to the back as it was a bit flimsy with all those cut out squares. Then I added embellishments to some of the squares, there are so many to choose from in this collection so that wasn’t difficult!

I used another puffy word from the Thickers sheet to use as the title below the photo.

I added some phrase stickers to a couple of squares for added interest and Noah’s name in another of the squares. And with that the layout was finished!

So, that’s all from me for the moment. Till next time, happy scrapping!
