Indigo & Ivy – Pink Paislee | Morag Cutts
I have been playing with the pretty Indigo & Ivy collection to create two layouts. This collection has a lovely mix of blues, teals and soft greys and is so easy to use!
To start, I stamped on the background with a small honeycomb pattern and embossed it with white embossing powder. I also added a few co-ordinating stamped images in black.
I’m a huge fan of fussy cutting although I know it’s not for everyone! I love the contrast of the blue flowers against the teal background.
I layered the fussy cut flowers vertically. I added in some gold thread behind and tucked in ephemera. The Die-cut Chipboard and Acetate Phrase pack has heaps of really easy to use journal phrases. Some have gold lettering for an extra touch of luxury.
Love This Moment
Paper #10 in the collection is has painterly feathers so again, I had to get out my small sharp scissors to fussy cut!
To add more texture to the feathers, I bent them and curled them.
I painted the ‘dream catcher’ using Distress Oxide inks (Iced Spruce Tattered Rose and Worn Lipstick). By mixing the inks together, I managed to create a shade that co-ordinated with the collection.
I splattered inks before lightly drawing the messy threads in grey pen. I then layered up the feathers overlapping them and adding fussy cut butterflies.
The collection has the most amazing gold foiled velum sheet. I hand cut a butterfly twice and layered them together before adding a pen nib as the body.
I hope that you’ve found some inspiration in this collection – it has certainly turned out to be one of my favourites!
