Mix & Match your Project Life spreads!

Hi magpies!
I’m Ida and it is time for my first blog post here at Hey Little Magpie. I want to take this opportunity to show you my style and how I often work with my spreads. My style is “Mix&Match” and I never buy a complete collection. I always choose the bits and pieces I love in a collection… often the ephemera packs, sticker sheets and one or two of the prettiest 12*12 papers. One ephemera pack can be enough for several Project Life spreads… it’s often a very good buy!
If you are new to Project Life and wants to get started, I would recommend you to buy the mini kits and the new value kits. The cards from different brands and collections can easily be mixed. At Hey Little Magpie you can also buy sample kits of some of the core kits! Some of those and you will have a lot of great cards to choose from!
These are 3 of my latest Project Life spreads which I think really shows my style.
(I listed the items for each spread below the photos!)

Week 29 – Notes & Things

I just love the new collection from Crate Paper, Notes & Things! Because I needed a lot of 4*6 cards on this spread I bought both a 12*12 paper and the journaling cards. The journaling cards are super cute and more exclusive than other cards. Some of them has some stitching and are already decorated. I mixed it with enamel dots from Studio Calico’s collection South of Market.
I used color photos on the left side and in my insert, and black and white photos on the right side. I matched the color photos with decorations in green and yellow, both from Notes & things and Just sayin from MME. Then I used gray decorations from the same ephemera packs on the right side.

Week 28 – Pink & gold

I just love the nesting dies from Shimelle! The globe is so pretty and useful. I used it on black cardstock and used one of the PL-cards in the Odds & Ends– value kit for the center. I also used the Die-Namics Die – Ampersand Set on this spread. The ampersands in Jen Hadfield – Stickers are almost the same and I think the dies and the stickers work well together.

Week 27 – Kraft & gold

For week 27 I focused on a 12*12-paper from Maggie Holmes and mixed it with some newer pieces. I made both the PL-cards and some decorations out of the same paper to get a cohesive look…
I mixed my handmade cards and decorations with pieces from the collection Notes & Things from Crate Paper.  img_1996
