All the Colours of the Horizon | Niki Rowland
Hi Magpies, Niki here with you today with a couple more layouts I’ve made using Paige Evan’s new collection, Horizon. I love the bright colours in this collection and have gone crazy with colour!
My first layout is this one: Perfect Pose. I’ve used a sheet of patterned paper for the background and made petal shapes cut from one of the papers to make the flowers. All the small petals are cut from Paper #12. I arranged them by color to make flowers. I decided the layout needed a large flower at the bottom though for design reasons of course (the actual reason was because there was a hole in the bottom of my background paper where I’d used it for something else!) so I cut the same shape from papers from the 6×8 paper pad and made a large flower.
I embellished the layout colour-on-colour and added a title using the Horizon Thickers and some other small alphabet stickers
For my second layout, ‘Born to be a Dreamer’ I’ve used the remainder of Paper #12. After I’d cut out all of the petal shapes and used them on the layout above, I was left with these diamond shapes thatI really loved. I scored them so they stood up a bit in the middle and attached them to my layout. I added some hand stitched detail around the sides.
I added my photos to the bottom corner and added lots of Horizon embellishments including ephemera, puffy stickers and chipboard. I also stamped the diamond shape – this was in a set of stamps by Shimelle…Head in the Clouds I think
