Hooray, another fabulous collection from Crate Paper!

Full of bright colours, Hooray will bring a smile to anyone’s face because it’s so fun!
With typical, quirky elements including a birthday crocodile and ostrich, what’s not to love?
Designed in honour of that one special day a year, it’s suitable for more than just birthday themes! And that’s exactly what I did – use Hooray for two none birthday themed layouts!

Hooray, Yay! Yay!

My first layout aptly titled ‘Hooray, Yay! Yay!’ features Nina on a recent visit to an elephant sanctuary in Thailand. She is currently out there, having such a blast! Clearly having an amazing time, this place simply lets the elephants be elephants!

Never one for stamping, I decided to use one that I’ve had for ages. It reminded me of the splash of water on the elephant’s backs was therefore ideal! Using Blueprint Sketch, Candied Apple and Evergreen Bough from the Tim Holtz Oxide Inks range, I was delighted with the results!

I used a tag, cut from the ‘For You’ paper and torn sections of ‘Happy Day’ and ‘Cheers’ papers for the top section of the layout. Then, I embellished using some of the ephemera pieces, chipboard, dimensional stickers and the glitter foam accent thickers. If like me you can’t abide the smell of the foam thickers, rest assured these don’t whiff!

Whilst many of these elements do make reference to ‘birthdays’, it’s easy to choose ones that don’t too! To finish the layout, I tore the word ‘happy’ from the ‘happy birthday’ washi tape and added this around the hearts!

Cake

For my second layout ‘Cake’, I decided to embrace the references to birthdays, but again avoiding the actual word!
Using a photo of my eldest step-daughter Olivia eating cake seemed appropriate. The photo is on the first morning of her arrival in New Zealand and to cope with her jet-lag, carbs were a must!

I loved the ‘Frosted’ paper as itt reminds me of a wordsearch.

Like for my first layout, I used a selection of ephemera pieces, chipboard and the glitter foam accent thickers. And whilst the chipboard ostrich didn’t get used, you’ve got to have a crocodile on a layout recounting being ‘down-under’!
