Holly Days Simple Stories | Julie Taylor
Hello Magpies, Julie here with you today getting all festive with a new collection from Simple Stories, Holly Days. A great collection full of traditional Christmas colours & cute images, perfect for all your festive creating.
Deck the Halls
I started my first layout by adding texture paste, through the Christmas lights stencil onto some white cardstock cut to 10×9 inch. After that had dried I added some pompom trim, at the base & attached it all to the B side of the Home for Christmas paper.
I added a few punched strips, at the top & some hand stitching & ‘hung’ a few of the ephemera ornaments.
I built my photo cluster on the bottom right, adding fussy cut tags, stickers, ephemera, chipboard & brads.
Ho Ho Ho
My second layout was inspired by this cute photo, I think it looks like she’s waving at us!! I added some ink, through a Vicki Boutin stencil, to the background cardstock, along with some splatters.
I tore a piece of the Ho Ho Ho paper, out the 6×8 paper pad & curled the edge, gluing that onto the far left. I then built up strips of ruffled crepe paper, pompom trim, label & a tab, & sewed it all into place.
I added some old music paper behind my photo along with papers from the 6×8 paper pack & glued that, over the pompom trim & added a cluster of tags & die cut ephemera at the bottom.
I added a few buttons, from my stash, & some die cuts on the right of the photo.
I added a small ripped section, backed with patterned paper, on the far right, to balance the page out.
I hope I have inspired you to get scrapping some of your festive photos.
