Holiday | Pinkfresh Studio – Simply The Best | Amy Kattenbelt
Hello, It’s Amy here today on the blog sharing a layout I’ve created using one of Pinkfresh Studio’s new collections called “Simply The Best“.
Described as Modern and graphic with a neutral colour palette, it’s suitable for scrapping many occasions. As well as being awesome for scrapping the men and boys in your life, it’s also perfect for outdoor adventures, road trips and everyday life. I’ve used it here to document some holiday photos of our getaway to the countryside in The Netherlands.

Supplies:
- Pinkfresh Studio – Simply The Best -Happy Times Paper
- Pinkfresh Studio – Simply The Best – Worth The Hype Paper
- Pinkfresh Studio – Simply The Best – Ephemera Set
- Pinkfresh Studio – Simply The Best – Enamel dots
- Pinkfresh Studio – Good Times – Mini Alphabet Stickers
- Heidi Swapp – Sun Chaser – Puffy Alphabet Stickers
- Black 12×12 Smooth Cardstock
- 3/16th inch Circle Punch
- Black pen (from my own stash)
- Black thread (from my own stash)
As soon as I saw the tag patterned paper I just knew I wanted to fussy cut all the tags. Fussy cutting elements from paper is such an economical way to stretch your stash and the straight lines of tags makes it super easy for even those who usually shy away from fussy cutting.
Once my tags were fussy cut, I outlined them all with a black pen for added definition. It was whilst doing this I noticed that I could actually make a rainbow with all the different coloured tags, and hence my idea took shape.
Instead of reaching for the ubiquitous white cardstock to use as my background, I picked a pale grey geometric patterned paper from the collection. And to really make the layout pop, I cut this down to a 11.5″ square and matted it onto black cardstock. The border stops your eye wandering off the layout and brings your attention back to your focal points.
I glued my tags, in rainbow order across my page. I decided to use two small photos on this layout. They weren’t super quality photos, taken from the passenger seat of a moving car of our holiday resort. I also added a few tags of matching colours to the top and bottom of the layout. I double matted my small photos with a teeny white and then black border.
I then enjoyed my favourite part of scrapbooking. Adding lots of embellishments from the diecut ephemera pack. I kept the colours matching to the tags as much as possible.
For my title I used the black and white striped puffy alphabet stickers from Heidi Swapp’s Sun Chaser collection. I love this alpha as they can be used with virtually any collection.
Lastly, I added clusters of enamel dots in each of the collections. I tried to form little triangles as this forms an appealing balanced design.
Thank you for coming to take a closer look at my layout. I will back in a few weeks to share another idea using this wonderful collection. Take Care,
