Holiday Cheer | Simple Stories – Hearth & Holiday| Amy Kattenbelt
Hello Magpies, Amy here today sharing another festive layout with you. I’ve been using Simple Stories Hearth & Holiday collection.
Holiday Cheer
For this eye catching layout I’ve used this stunning 12×12 ‘color wheel’ stencil by Crafters’ Workshop. I think it’s a very versatile stencil and I have so many ideas of how to use it.
For this layout I used a piece of good quality white cardstock and distress oxides in “Rustic Wilderness” Green, the new “Lumberjack Plaid” red and a slightly orangy red “Fired Brick”.
To keep my stencilling as neat as possible, I sectioned off the areas using some some scrap paper as shown below, rotating it around the stencil section by section.
My background ended up as below, some radial sections of the three distress oxide colours, and to keep the layout not too heavy looking, in other sections I used a black pen to draw an outline of the shapes.
I placed a HLM exclusive flair from the “Believe in the magic” set in the centre of the circle. I matted my 3×4 photo with the green B side of the patterned paper from the collection called “2×2/4×4 Cut Aparts“.
The rest of the layout uses the collections Page Kit set. These are a very economical way to embellish your page as they contain a title, some large ephemera and then some smaller pieces too. I also added a few die cuts from the floral pack. I cleverly covered any smudges with these pieces.
Thanks for coming to read about how I created my layout. I’ll be back in a few weeks with one final Christmas layout. Take Care,
