Hey Pumpkin | Julie Taylor
Hi Magpies, I have 2 layouts to share with you using the lovely Crate Paper’s halloween collection Hey Pumpkin!! I never normally choose halloween collections to create with, as not having young children, don’t get many opportunities to get photos, but with the craze of snapchat I managed to get one of my daughter & having furry friends that was just an excuse for a cute jumper & a perfect photo op!!!
Mwahaha
For my first layout I stamped the date, 31st October, all over a sheet of Kraft cardstock, in black, orange & purple oxide inks. I love doing this & it’s something I do quite often. I then cut the Pumpkin Spice paper in half, distressed the edges & added it top & bottom of my page, on a slant & adding the spotty paper, from the 6×8 paper pad & some corrugated cardboard.
I mounted my 2 photos, on papers from the 6×8 paper pad & tucked the smaller one in above the bigger one at an angle.
I then went to town adding embellishments along the left hand side of the page & around the photos. I fussy cut some of the bits out from the 6×8 paper pad, houses & spiders web, & added a few purple sewn crosses to finish the page.
So Not Spooky
My second page is of my cute dog. I chose to use the B side of Candy Corn paper as my background but needed somewhere for my title so added a strip of painted black acrylic paint! This can look quite scary when you first do it but once you add everything on top & around it, it comes together. I then sewed the word ‘spooky’ on top of that, using multi coloured thread & added some stamped & fussy cut brackets & a bit of ephemera around it.
I backed my photos with papers from the 6×8 pad & added them below the title & then added more ephemera around them.
I have loved using this collection & will be perfect for all those fab halloween photos you’ll take. please share on our Facebook page if you do use it, I’d love to see.
until next time, happy scrapping
