Hello Today 2021 Album | Jo Boland
Hello there, I’m back with another project for January using the Hello Today collection from Simple Stories. This time I have made an album for 2021, it’s all prepped and ready to fill with photos and journaling.
I’ve used a Simple Stories Sn@p 6×8″ album in a sunny yellow for my album, there’s lots of albums to choose from here. On the front I’ve glued chipboard stickers ‘Life’ and added a die-cut tag, plus an arrow and number stickers from the sticker book.
Inside the album I’ve created an inner front page using two of the 6×8″ papers from the paper pad. I’ve adhered them back to back with a 2×8″ strip of kraft cardstock down the spine side. This makes the page about an inch wider bringing it out level with the page protectors.
The first opening page has the designer paper Hello Today with the foam stickers of the same phrase stuck on top.
On the reverse side of this is the 6×8″ camera paper, on which I’ve added a red foam sticker heart on the lens.
I use page protectors for the rest of the monthly pages. The first page has a divided page protector that holds two 4×6″ cards / photos.
The top and bottom halves have 4×6″ pieces of paper cut from the 6×8″ papers in the pad. The top one has a 3×4″ cut out card of a typewriter with the year added in stickers from the sticker book. Also added is a die-cut label from the Bits & Pieces Journaling die-cut pack and a foam arrow sticker. The bottom half has foam word stickers adhered to it.
January
Each month has a two page spread using the cut apart cards from the monthly 12×12 papers. The January paper can be found here. You’ll notice that I’ve added in the cards from the desk calendar I made in my last blog post. My plan is to add these as each month has come to an end. I may change the photo for one from this year, or I may keep it as it is with a photo from last year. You can find my desk calendar post here.
I will add the journaling at the end of the month as I may replace or add some photos. I’ve used the Sn@p 2×2″ & 3×4″ page protectors too in each spread.
February
The last page of the monthly spread usually consists of a paper from the current month and the next month, both taken from the 6×8″ paper pad.
March
I struggled a little with March, but I hoping that when the photos and journaling are in it will look more cohesive. I’ve not stuck the 3×4″ cards on to the last page yet. This means I can change them around depending on the photos I want to add once the month is over.

For the end of the album I added a double page like at the beginning.
I added a blue foam heart sticker to this page.
and a yellow foam heart sticker to this one.
I’ve put the whole collection of products into a 12×12″ bag and put it in my desk organiser so it’s nice and handy to update the album through the year.
