**Layout using the October embellishment kit**
This month I had such a fun time mixing and matching products for my latest layout! I pulled out the October Embellishment Kit and paired it with one of my older favourites, Cider & Donuts from Simple Stories. I love when newer kits work seamlessly with things already in my stash—it feels fresh while also letting me revisit collections I’ve enjoyed before.
The focal point of the page is a one of the chipboard frames which I backed with a plaid patterned paper to give it extra colour, perfect for fall memories. To balance the design, I added clusters of embellishments both above and below the frame, leaning slightly to the right side. This layering gives the layout movement and makes the frame pop without overpowering the photo.
Speaking of the photo, I placed it on the left side of the frame, which allowed me to keep the visual flow natural and easy on the eye. The positioning creates a nice balance between the photo and embellishment clusters, so everything feels connected.
For the title, I couldn’t resist diving into the new wood words from Hey Little magpie, using the Hello Pumpkin & adding in a few pieces from the Autumn Icons set. They add the perfect rustic touch and a little bit of dimension, tying the whole fall-inspired theme together beautifully.
I love how this layout combines old and new products while highlighting one special photo. It’s a reminder that our scrapbooking supplies don’t have to stay in their own boxes—sometimes the best pages come from blending collections across seasons. If you’ve been holding onto pieces from past kits, this is your sign to pull them out and mix them in with your current stash. You might be surprised how well they play together!
