This collection from My Minds Eye was released a little while ago, and is not one of their brand new collections, so it may have escaped your notice if you (like me) tend to gravitate towards the “what’s new” section of the Hey Little Magpie shop! However, it’s well worth a look because ‘Hello Gorgeous’ is just that. Gorgeous. My Minds Eye always produce papers with a truly luxurious feel on sturdy feeling heavyweight paper with beautiful texture and, in the case of this range, added glitter.

I used a mixture of 12×12 and 6×6 papers here (the 6×6 paper pad also features glitter) to create layered triangles on each side of the page, really leading your eye in toward the photo, and showing off the beautiful colour scheme of the collection. I added mist splatters and Nuvo crystal drops in white across the page before building up the centre of my layout. I added several elements from the My Minds Eye ephemera pack, which has a great mixture of picture die cuts, tags/banners, basic shapes and text pieces. This photo tells it’s own story really, since the blackboard with the “one month old” writing is in the image with my daughter. I have other pages which contain more detail about her at a month old – what she was doing, her size & weight etc, so I didn’t need to include that again. I simply added a Freckled Fawn wood veneer word ‘lovely’, and her name as a title.

The stitched brads in this collection are particularly stunning. It’s often hard to get a good feel for this kind of product via the stock photo online, but in real life they are so beautiful. I’ve used them on all three of the pages in this post, and have included some close up photos to really give you an idea of what they look like in situ. Stunning product! The other circular elements I added were a wood veneer piece from the same My Minds Eye collection, and a Hey Little Magpie foiled heart flair. If you haven’t tried the Hey Little Magpie flair yet go and add some to your basket! They are self adhesive and have a lovely finish with a great selection of designs to choose from.

Another page showcasing the papers in this range. I really fell in love with the colours and designs in these papers. There’s a very classic feel to them, but they don’t feel outdated or old. The floral is so pretty, and the stripes & dots are always amongst my favourites. The white brick & gold chipboard alphabet is from Pink Paislee C’est la vie. It’s a beautiful addition to any page, with it’s metallic bottom half, and goes so well with the Hey Little Magpie foiled flair.


 
This layout features a photo of my daughter meeting her new baby brother in hospital. I have scrapped this set of photos with a much more ‘baby boy’ feeling, but these papers called for a focus on the girl in the picture, the new big sister taking centre stage on this particular page. The large wood veneer banner is from the Hello Gorgeous set of course, and sits over layered die cuts also from the collection.

This is page has a photo of my daughter’s first ponytail, which was a bigger event than I was expecting and felt like a really special little moment! I framed the photo using die cuts and crystal drops dotted around the edge of the picture, and layered some ephemera and embellishments around the centre. The puffy stickers are from Cocoa Vanilla. Luckily for me, since my daughter is Amelia, the My Minds Eye die cut pack has the letters A, B and C, so I used the A here as a monogram.


 
 
 
I used punches to cut multiple circles from patterned papers and set them out across the top and bottom of the page, overlapping the edges. I didn’t start gluing until I was happy with the placement, and then moved them one by one, using a repositionable herma adhesive roller so I could tuck them under each other as I went. This is pretty much my go-to adhesive for almost all jobs, alongside Tombo liquid glue. I love that this page features so many patterns and colours, yet because the photo is separated from the riot of circles above and below it, the picture doesn’t feel crowded or overwhelmed.
