Heidi Swapp Art Walk | Giselle Homer

Hello again Magpies,

I hope you’re all safe and well. I can hardly believe we’re already into the second half of this momentous year, it’s certainly one that we won’t easily forget!

My first layout for July is something a little different for me as I used a strong patterned background. However, I thought that these photos worked well with the woodgrain effect, so I took the plunge!

I started by trimming the photos into squares and then I backed them with white and brown cardstock. I cut three matching squares from the patterned paper and arranged all six squares into a grid pattern on the lower half of the background.

I used clear stickers from the collection to decorate the paper squares. The phrase sticker didn’t show up well on the patterned paper background so I backed it with white cardstock.

I couldn’t resist adding a die cut puppy paw print too!

These darker stickers worked really well as accents on the squares.

I added the title with an alphabet that I had in my stash and highlighted it with gold stars and a gold heart. I wanted a bit more texture on the layout so I sewed some cross stitches here and added some enamel dots.

I hope you take a look at this collection, it’s an unusual colour combination that I enjoyed working with.

That’s all from me but I’ll be back later in the month with another Art Walk layout. Until then, happy scrapping everyone!
