Heidi Swapp mix up | Julie Taylor
Hi Magpies, Julie back again today, sharing 2 layouts using a mixture of Heidi Swapp collections, Art Walk, Storyline Chapters & Old School. I love mixing collection together, think it gives a more eclectic look but works better when using the same designer as the colours gel together & don’t clash.
Live in the Moment
My first layout I chose to do on patterned paper & this ledger paper, Notebook Paper, from Storyline Chapters is ideal with just a touch of writing top & bottom. I had a few photos to add on this layout, so printed them small so as not to cover the page. I added a small bit of inking, through a stencil & some splotches & splatters in green & yellow.
I then built up my layers in a loose grid pattern, adding in tags & ephemera, in & around the photos.
I stamped & inked a few butterflies & added those travelling up the page & finished it all with some shiny, gold trim, to bring it all together.
Time to just Chill
My second page was mainly inspired by a paper from the Old School collection, Summerland Paper. I knew as soon as I saw it that I wanted to fussy cut it!! I did just that & distressed the edges & added it to some Kraft cardstock & sewed each piece down with different threads.
I added a few black splatters & then built my cluster over the top of the chevrons.
I used lots of foam tape, to give dimension & added the finishing touch of a parrot, fussy cut from the Story Art Paper from Art Walk collection.
I hope you have enjoyed my mix up with Heidi Swapp & I’ll be back later, in the month, with 2 more layouts using these collections.
until then,
