Heart and Home – Part Two | Amy Kattenbelt
I thought this photo of my youngest son, cuddled up with lots of blankets, was the perfect match for the papers. The knitted blue patterned paper is so fun! I also loved the bleached woodgrain paper, so I paired them together for my background. Then I pulled out all the frames from the ephemera pack to use on the layout.
I added some stitching to the layout for added texture and interest. Then I went to town with the emblisshments and stickers. Creating clusters using all the wool and knitting pieces, as well as other pieces from the collection.
I added a subtitle and the date with stickers from the Simple Stories Color Vibe Alpha Sticker Book in Bold…yes they are still my favourite product to use!
I finished my layout by adding some garden twine to the tags and buttons, and adding some pink puffy heart stickers.
Yoshi & Toby
For my final layout I decided to use the floral paper as my background, but because I did not want all my other elements to get lost within its pattern, I cut a piece of white cardstock to 10″x10″ to place on top so the floral paper became a frame.
I cut some pennant banner shapes out of other patterned papers, and matched them with the HOME pieces form the ephemera pack.
I then layered my two photos, which I matted in white, with lots of layers of scrap pieces of paper from the collection and stitched around the edge. Next I had fun adding lots of tab pieces, word stickers and tags to the photo clusters.
I added this cute sticker, which I thought matched my photos well. Ok, so its cat on the sticker and my photo is of a dog….but its still super cute right!?! Again I used the alphabet book mentioned above to create my title in red.
I also created a little cluster of stickers in the bottom right corner of the layout and added the date, this time with the blue alphabet stickers. Did I tell you how much I love these alphabet sticker books?!?
I hope you enjoyed taking a closer look at my layouts, this collection is just perfect for those indoor photos taken over the autumn and winter months…but is equally as locely if you just love tone on tone muted colours.
I will be back next month with some new inspiration, in the meantime take care and stay safe
