Hazelwood Shades.
Hi There, Sheena here again x
This month I wanted to share with you a new range from a new company under the American Crafts umbrella. One Canoe Two have launched their first range – Hazelwood and I for one love it, it has a great range of colours and has a summer feel to it.
I have 3 pages to share with you this month featuring the Hazelwood Collection.
My Lovely Life.
I loved this photo taken by Rubina Latif of Sam, Jackie & myself at a recent workshop we organised & I wanted to scrap it. Using the Hazelwood amazing engraved wood as the base for my layout gave me a blank canvas to work from. I layered my photo with tissue, journaling cards and papers from the Hazelwood range.
Wood veneer has a tendency to bleed a little when its decorated with mists or paints so to add colour to my background I used water colour pencils in yellow & orange hues and blended them with my finger tip trying to keep within the lines. I added the photo with fussy cut flowers behind before adding my mixed title using a die cut and alphas all from the Hazelwood Collection. The butterflies are just 2 from the large selection in the rub-on pack, added to card & cut out.
Bloom.
My next page features a friends Grand Daughter and I plan to add some journalling before it goes in the album.
In the Hazelwood collection there is a dramatic paper called -Rosewater, it’s perfect for fussy cutting and I spent a lovely evening in front of the TV doing just that!
I then proceeded to add them to another softer background paper- lazy daisy – using foam pads to add dimension before adding my photo. The butterfly and title die cut are both from the ephemera pack.
& Hello
This Hazelwood range has a diverse colour palette and to complement my photo I pulled out all the blue & mauve pieces.
I used the packaging technique to add blue and pink to the background cardstock before layering the papers, tags and journalling cards together. I added die cuts and stickers to embellish further.
I’d really recommend trying this Hazelwood Collection range and I hope these pages inspire your creations x
