Having Fun, Simple Stories Happy Travels | Julie Taylor

Hello Magpies & welcome back to the blog.

Today I’m sharing my second layout using the Simple Stories Happy Travels collection & wanted to show that this collection can be used for more layouts than just travel!!! The colours in the climbing frame were just perfectly matched to this collection & a lot of the wording goes with all occasions.

I first cut out a semi circle from the 2×2/4×4 Elements paper & lightly drew where it would be on some white cardstock. I then inked around the semi circle with Salvaged Patina oxide ink using a large blending brush. I added the paper on top & machine sewed into place. I also added some inking around where the photos were going to be using the new Geometric 1 stencil, adding a bit of stamping using the Distressed Grids Hey Little Magpie stamps & some splatters in Fossilised Amber oxide ink.

I added the 2 photos onto patterned paper, out the 6×8 paper pack & adhered them above the semi circle over a doily, cut in half, out the June Embellishment kit & tucked in a few die cut pieces around each photo.

Across the centre, between the photos & the semi circle I added some trims, from my stash & a die cut border using the new Circle border sewn into place.
