So #Happy

DSC_0465

Hey Magpies, Niki here having a play with the #Happy collection, designed by Allison Kreft for Websters Pages.  I haven’t used Websters Pages much in the past, but I really don’t know why as these papers are gorgeous!  The collection has a loose party theme but I have managed to come up with a number of layouts that aren’t party themed at all, so this is clearly a collection that can be used for that theme, or not. As well as being a gorgeous collection, it’s also just been added to the sale so is a complete bargain too!

At a recent scrapbooking weekend I was given two hard-to use embellishments and challenged to use them together on one layout. I, of course, rose to that challenge. The hedgehog was one and is from the new We R Memory Keepers Crush collection emphemera pack, and the other was a moped, from the Simple Stories Summer Vibes collection. I also threw in a cork pineapple for good measure. I don’t think they look totally out of place, and they are on display instead of being hidden so I definitely made the challenge criteria! The cute banner paperclip is part of the Websters Pages #Happy collection.

For my second layout I really went for a monochrome colour scheme, ie I used predominately one colour. I absolutely adored the stars paper from the #Happy collection and used this as my background. The ‘keep it real’ is actually a journaling card on vellum on one of the speciality vellums in the same collection. I also used the ‘noted’ journaling card from one of  the cut-apart sheets. I had some Dear Lizzy cork bows left over and whilst they are lovely, there were 8 in a pack all the same, so after using 5, the remaining 3 continued to sit there unused. By covering the bow in glossy accents and sprinkling with gold glitter, this bow got a total re-vamp and looks like a brand new embellishment, so I’m super-happy with that.

For my third layout I followed a sketch involving triangles. I’ve snuck a gold doily in there too and used some more of the speciality vellums. I also used a triangle stencil and Heidi Swapp texture paste in teal to add some additional triangles.  The ‘adventure’ chipboard shape is from the Crate Paper Wonder Collection.

For this layout I went back to my favourite technique of the moment – tearing paper. I find it so super easy yet so effective. This time I only added a little bit of this to one side, used one of those gorgeous gold doilies. I have fussy cut elements from the cut-apart sheets of #Happy paper and added a few embellishments.

This paper was one of my favourites – less girly in colour which I love becuase it means I can scrap my little boy, yet also so pretty. The design was a little busy to place my photo straight onto, so I added a layer of white gesso first to the centre section of the paper. I was a bit out of my comfort zone with this one as I don’t usually use a central design but I thought I would try it and I am happy with the result. The journaling card with the glitter top and bottom directly underneath my photo is from one of the #happy cut apart sheets. It isn’t actually glittered, it’s just a really realistic paper – it looks awesome!

And finally I have one last layout made with this collection. This layout has already been shared on UK Scrappers but as I made it with my leftovers from this collection I thought I’d share it here too. The circle of circles is cut on the silhouette and I filled a lot of the circles with punched circles from the #happy papers. Some are smaller than the holes and are raised up on foam pads to give added dimension. The ‘just be your beautiful self’ is done with one of the Heidi Swapp screenprints and then I washed some gelatos over the top as well as some flicks from some Heidi Swapp ColourShine bottles.
