Happy Times – Vicki Boutin – Where to Next? – Wendy Meffan

Hi Everyone! It’s Wendy here sharing my first layout using  Where to Next ? Collection by Vicki Boutin. This collection is so vibrant and bright, perfect for all those Summer holiday photos. Mine are literally hot off the press! I flew in  from Vietnam last night and made my layout this morning knowing I needed to post on Tuesday! I’d actually been casually thinking about the colours in the collection and how wonderful they would be while I was away at times!

We went on an amazing boat trip through the waterways covered by Coconut Palm leaves in Vietnam and so the 12×12 speciality vellum paper and the 12×12 Cool breeze papers were perfect for my photos. I fussy cut a few leaves from each paper to have them ready as I created my layout. A real  favourite  of mine is using tags as well, so I chose the 12×12 Enjoy It paper and cut it up ready to use the tags on the layout and too. For my photos I made them 2 up with borders on my Selphy, this way they are slightly smaller and the tags work as a perfect mat behind them .

I am a lover of multiple photos on a layout to tell the story so I chose four photos which really showed our trip on the water, then I chose four coloured tags and backed them to the photos. I then played around with the position of them on the page and tucked the fussy cut palm leaves behind. I decided then I needed to add a few more leaves so used a palm stencil with distress oxides and dotted a few more leaves around the page.

I embellished around each tag and photo using stickers from the sticker sheet and  sticker book and journalling ephemera. The photos above and below have fussy cut vellum leaves.

For all the journal ephemera pieces I distressed all the edges along with the tags. I raised different elements on sticky fixers to give more dimension to the layout. The palm leave shown below was from the 12×12 Cool Breeze paper.

I also used one of the fabulous flair badges designed by Sarah Davies. There are so many now to choose from over on the Website and many coordinating to all the various  paper collections.

If you’re planning any trips this Summer this Collection is a must! Do check it out on the website!

I hope you will feel inspired by this collection.

Till next time … Happy Scrapping!
